Someone in the crowd said it best after one of the more particularly intense songs (although it may have been a bit tactless ) "The record doesn't do it justice!" Indeed. I'd heard that band-of-the-moment The Arcade Fire was even better live than their highly-acclaimed debut Funeral, and I was happy to hear that this wasn't an over-enthusiastic compliment! They delivered the album (and then some, with a cover, some b-sides and a new one) with a firey (and sometimes ass-shaking) intensity which (between continual instrument-swapping) shows that this is a truly talented group of individuals who will be making boundary-pushing pop music for a long long time.
